Maddie Ziegler's wardrobe malfunction

She was popular on the reality hit Dance Moms before becoming Sia's mini-me, and now Maddie Ziegler has opened up about her embarrassing wardrobe malfunction!

Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April this year, the 14-year-old explained how during a performance with Sia the strap on her leotard snapped, so she took matters into her own hands so she could finish her routine!

"It was the show my whole family came to, I opened the show with a solo and my strap broke within the first two counts of eight and I did a front flip, just one arm holding my leotard up because my leotard kept falling down the whole dance," Maddie recounted.

"I did the full dance with my one arm holding my outfit. I didn't know what to do in that moment, all I could think is 'Oh my aunt is watching me and all of her friends and everyone'. I was literally laughing so hard when I came off stage."

Way to go Maddie! Not everyone would handle a wardrobe malfunction so well!

The former reality star has been touring with the Australian singer and songwriter as a dancer since the end of 2016 and has starred in many of Sia's videos including Chandelier, Elastic Heart, Big Girls Cry, Cheap Thrills andThe Greatest.

Maddie also revealed to the talk show host just how Sia first approached her to become her mini-me for performances and how shocked she was to learn that she would be the centre of attention!

"I was 11-years-old and she was a fan of the show I used to be on [Dance Moms] and she just tweeted me from there. She said to my mom 'I want to get in contact with your daughter. I want her to be in my video.'"

Maddie went on to add she didn't really know what she was getting herself into, saying, "And at the time I didn't really know who Sia was, as much as I do obviously now because I was so young and she didn't show her face so I didn't have a big understand of who she was.

"I thought I was going to be swinging from a chandelier I had no clue what I was doing and I had no expectations walking in. I literally thought I was going to be a background dancer and there would be other girls in the video too and I thought Sia would be in the video and then it was just me!"
