Rose McGowan 'offered hush money' from Weinstein

She's been the most vocal about her experience with disgrace movie producer Harvey Weinstein, and now Rose McGowan claims she was offered "hush money" to stay silent over her alleged sexual assault.

The 44-year-old former actress said an associate close to the 65-year-old producer made the offer of a $1 million to her in exchange for silence.

"I had all these people I’m paying telling me to take it so that I could fund my art," the New York Times reports Rose as saying.

Rose adds she made a counteroffer of $6 million, but later retracted it.

"I figured I could probably have gotten him up to three. But I was like — ew, gross, you’re disgusting, I don’t want your money, that would make me feel disgusting," she added.

The former Charmed star walked away with a $100,000 settlement from Harvey in 1997, and has publicly accused the Miramax founder of raping her in a hotel room.

The New York Times also adds Rose has since found out the contract she signed at the time never included a confidentiality clause.

Earlier this month fears grew for the star after she pulled out of an appearance due to "compounding factors" surrounding the scandal that's rocked Hollywood.

Rose took to Twitter earlier this month, saying she was doing the "best" she could given the circumstances.

"Seeing your monster’s face everywhere being traumatized, over and over, while getting heat for a mistake is f***ed.Doing the damn best I can," she tweeted.

Rose has joined a long list of actresses and former employees who have spoken out against Harvey, after an explosive New York Times investigation alleged Harvey had been the perpetrator of sexual harassment for nearly three decades.
