Jimmy Kimmel makes Harvey Weinstein an Oscars 'target'

With his career left in tatters, Harvey Weinstein will still be feeling the heat in March next year and won't be spared when it comes to Hollywood's night of nights.

Host of the 2018 Oscars Jimmy Kimmel has promised there will be shots fired in the disgraced producer's way, however he will also remain sensitive and well aware some of Harvey's victims who may be in the room.

"It’s not really a laughing matter. There’ll be a lot of people in that room who maybe have been through experiences with him, and that’s not something I want them to relive on the night they get their Oscar," the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host told New York magazine.

The comedian, who also hosted the 2017 ceremony, also addressed the backlash he received for not speaking about the 65-year-old's sexual harassment scandal on his late night show after the news first broke.

"We do the show Monday through Thursday. I didn’t see the Weinstein story break till shortly before the show started on a Thursday night, and then we had a rerun on Friday, so that’s why it wasn’t mentioned in our monologue," he told the publication.

"I have no interest in protecting Harvey Weinstein. Hopefully, he will get what he deserves and we’ll all move on with our lives."

Jimmy is the first comedian since the 1990s to be asked to host the awards for a second year in a row, and despite his experience in showbiz, admitted that thinking of jokes for Hollywood's biggest night is tough.

"The Oscars are so far out," he adds to the publication. "It’s hard to figure out what we’re going to say on the next show, let alone in March. There might not be an Oscars, because North Korea may have struck the Dolby Theatre."
