Irwin family denies Bindi is about to get engaged

The Irwin family have slammed recent claims that Bindi is about to get engaged to longterm boyfriend, Chandler Powell.

Fresh speculation began circulating after Woman's Day ran a report that stated US-born Chandler was "poised to get down on bended knee."

The publication stated that Chandler had been talking to his American family "in depth" about proposing to Bindi, with his clan gearing up to head Down Under for the wedding.

But in a statement issued to Be via their spokesperson at Australia Zoo, the wildlife warriors branded the claims "false."

Bindi, the daughter of the late animal activist Steve Irwin, has been dating wakeboarder Chandler since 2014 and fans of the khaki-loving pair have been hoping for the sound of wedding bells.

Earlier this year the couple had holidayed in Las Vegas where it was rumoured the pair had enjoyed a quickie wedding.

Despite the spotlight surrounding the young lovers, their relationship has blossomed with both regularly sharing loved-up snaps on their social media accounts.

Last week, Bindi called Chandler the "love of her life" in a special message shared to Instagram to celebrate his birthday, while Chandler recently thanked his other half for making "life in the outback" better.
