Reese Witherspoon is like a 'sister' to Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman has gushed about her close friendship with her Big Little Lies co-star Reese Witherspoon.
In an interview with Red magazine, the actress discussed how the pair of them bonded over their "similar experiences."
"We both started work really young," Nicole told the publication, "and both our mothers were nurses and we've had similar experiences at different times of our lives - I see her as a little sister."
The 50-year-old also revealed the close friends actually have neighbouring holiday homes in the Bahamas.
"We're actually next-door neighbours," she said. "I'm on the balcony and I'm like, 'Hi baby'."
The pair also both own rights to the show Big Little Lies, which they co-star in.
Nicole admitted the reasoning behind that was to be able to produce a True Detective type of show, but for females.
"It was born out of two women going, 'Hey, where are the roles? The really cool roles?'" the Aussie actress told the outlet. "True Detective was all male-driven, where's the female-driven limited series of the sane quality?"
Nicole gushed about her 41-year-old co-star back in September when she won her first Emmy Award for her role role as Celeste Wright in the hit HBO show for Best Actress in a Limited Series.
Nicole thanked her co-star Reese in her speech, who played opposite her as fellow school mum Madeline.
"Reese. I share this with you," Nicole said in her speech. "Without you I would not be standing up here."
