Prince Harry breaks a major royal rule
He may be known as the wild child of the royal family but Prince Harry has angered many by breaking a royal rule on Remembrance Sunday.
The 33-year-old Prince appeared alongside his father, Prince Charles, and his brother, Prince William, at the Cenotaph in London to lay a wreath.
And while he was dressed to impress for the important occasion, it appears one part of Prince Harry’s physique wasn’t up to scratch.
According to The Mirror, Prince Harry broke a cardinal royal rule by wearing a full beard on the day.
Throughout history, while some officers have been known to sport moustaches, it’s always been a rule that full facial beards are forbidden while on official duty.
“Prince Harry is letting us all down,” a member of the elite cavalry regiment told The Mirror.
“There’s no place for beards in the Queen’s cavalry.
“He should have shaved it off for such an important day.”
Prince Harry stood with his father, Prince Charles, on the day, where the Queen had surprisingly handed over her duties to her eldest son.
Prince Charles laid a wreath at the war memorial on behalf of his 91-year-old mother, as she watched on from the balcony with Prince Philip.
It comes after the Queen was seen swaying slightly at the last ceremony.
“One of the most important things with the Queen as she gets older is not to put her in any situation where she might be uncomfortable or things might be difficult,” royal historian Hugo Vickers told Reuters.
“It requires a certain amount of standing around and then it involves the queen carrying something quite heavy and walking backwards.”
