Aussie millionaire Lotto winner says ticket purchase was 'a mistake'
An Australian man who won $1 million in the Lotterywest draw has claimed that the purchase was actually a mistake.
The lucky winner, who hails from Roleystone in Perth, said that while he was delighted with his win, he wasn’t actually meant to buy a Lotto ticket at all.
In fact, the man, who is a bachelor, said he was supposed to purchase a Slikpik 25 online ticket but his hand slipped on the keyboard and he ended up buying a Slikpik 50 instead.
Speaking to Lotterywest, the man said he couldn’t believe it when he looked online and found out he was a millionaire.
“When I looked online and saw I had won, I thought it might be an electrical phenomenon,” he said.
“That or I was seeing things after a big Christmas party the night before.”
The man, who has been renting for years, said the money will go towards buying himself a slick bachelor pad, complete with a 55-inch TV screen.
Lotterywest is still waiting for the second winner from the weekend to come forward.
Tonight, there will be a $20 million OZ Lotto jackpot draw and the massive $30 million Megadraw will take place on December 30.
