Meghan Markle's father 'extremely hurt' by Prince Harry
Meghan Markle may have been on cloud nine when she walked arm-in-arm with Prince Harry at Sandringham on Christmas Day but her father is far from happy this festive season.
It’s been claimed that Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle, is less than impressed with comments Prince Harry made when he guest hosted a BBC Radio 4 show this week.
During the segment, the 33-year-old Prince described Meghan’s day with the royal family, saying she had done an “absolutely amazing job”.
However, it was his next comment that has caused a stir with Meghan’s family back in the US.
“She's getting in there and it's the family I suppose that she's never had,” Prince Harry continued.
Now, Meghan’s brother, also called Thomas Markle, has told the Daily Mail that their father is “extremely hurtt” about the comments.
“He dedicated the majority of all his time and everything to her,” Meghan’s brother said about her father.
“He made sure she had what she needed to be successful and get to where she's at today.”
Thomas went on to claim that Meghan’s family are just like any other and always made a big deal out of birthdays, Christmas and Thanksgiving.
And Meghan’s brother isn’t the only family member who has a word or two for Prince Harry because her half-sister, Samantha Markle, is also not happy with him.
Taking to her Twitter account, Samantha vented her frustrations at what the Prince had said, claiming Meghan has a large family who were “always there with her and for her”.
“Our household was very normal and when dad and Doria divorced, we all made it so it was like she had two houses,” she wrote.
“No one was estranged, she was just too busy.
“She has a large family. She always did. Our dad is amazing and completely self-sacrificing.”
Meghan's parents, mum Doria Ragland, 61, and dad Thomas Markle Sr, 73, divorced in 1987.
Based in Florida, Samantha is 17 years older than Meghan and has been very outspoken their relationship went public.
In interviews she has described her half-sister as a 'shallow social climber' and claimed she shunned her family since making it in Hollywood.
Samantha is also rumoured to be writing a 'slamming tell-all' book, called The Diary of Princess Pushy's Sister.
