Donald Trump reckons he would beat Oprah in a Presidential race

She may be one of the most beloved TV hosts ever but Donald Trump reckons he could beat Oprah Winfrey in a Presidential race.

People all over the world took to Twitter to urge Oprah to run for President of the United States in 2020, after she gave a rousing speech at Monday’s Golden Globes.

However, the current President, Donald Trump, is less than impressed with the outpouring of love, and believes he would win hands down if they were ever to go up against each other.

According to the BBC, Trump was asked about Oprah during a meeting to discuss immigration reform.

“Yeah, I’ll beat Oprah,” he said in front of reporters.

"I did one of her last shows. Her last week. She had Donald Trump and my family."

"I like Oprah but I don't think she's going to run. I don't think she's going to run. I knew her very well.”

He went on to say that if she did decide to run for President, he believed it would a “lot of fun” to go up against her.

Trump’s comments come as his daughter was trolled by Hollywood stars for Tweeting her support for the #TimesUp campaign and Oprah’s speech.

Oprah spoke out about the recent wave of sexual assault allegations sweeping through Hollywood during her speech, which was applauded by people all over the world and even prompted calls for the TV icon to run for President of the United States in 2020.

“For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dare speak the truth to the power of those men. But their time is up. Their time is up,” Oprah’s speech went, referencing the #MeToo and #TimesUp campaign which funds legal defense for women.

However, the current President’s daughter, Ivanka, has been ridiculed for using the #TimeUp hashtag in her Tweet, after her father faced multiple allegation of sexual harassment, which he has denied.

“Just saw @Oprah's empowering & inspiring speech at last night’s #GoldenGlobes. Let’s all come together, women & men, & say #TIMESUP! #United,” Ivanka Tweeted.

Chrissy Teigen, who hasn’t been afirad to Tweet the President in the past letting her feeling be known, simply tweeted: “Ew go away” at Ivanka.

However, others were more vocal about their disgust at Ivanka’s Tweet.

“time is up vanky for u - daddy and jared - oprah knows - so do we ... awaken child - now or never - u have 3 babies woman try harder,” Rosie O’Donnell said.

“Great! You can make a lofty donation to the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund that is available to support your father's accusers,” Alyssa Milano Tweeted.
