Prince Harry hasn't asked Prince William to be his best man

They appear to be as close as brothers can be but Prince William has awkwardly revealed that Prince Harry still hasn’t asked him to be his best man.

Prince Harry is due to wed 36-year-old former Suits actress Meghan Markle on May 19th, which is just 121 days away.

And while most people would have their whole bridal party sorted by that stage, Prince Harry is apparently a bit more relaxed about things.

The Duke of Cambridge was invited to join in with a group discussion at the Campaign Against Living Miserably – a charity aimed at men’s mental health – when the contentious issue was brought up.

"He hasn't asked me yet, just to clear that up. It could be a sensitive subject,” Prince William said, according to The Telegraph.

Footballer Rio Ferdinand also asked the Prince whether the royal wedding was going to clash with his FA Cup duties.

Prince William replied that he was “trying to see what I can do” about the issue.

According to the Mirror, Kensington Palace has confirmed that plans are being put in place to ensure that Prince William will not miss our on the final.

This will probably mean that the Duke will fly after the ceremony and dinner part of the day is finished.

And while Prince William may be waiting for Prince Harry to ask him to be his best man, it turns out there’s actually no such thing as having a best man at a royal wedding — but William broke protocol to honor his sibling when he wed Kate Middleton.

Marlene Koenig, British and European royal expert, told Town & Country that “the best man or best men are officially called supporters.”

She did add that “William will probably be Harry’s supporter,” carrying on the sibling tradition that was also displayed by the brothers’ father, Prince Charles.

For his wedding to Princess Diana in 1981, he chose his brothers, Edward and Andrew, to be his “supporters.”
