5 bizarre things beauty bloggers tried on camera

Beauty bloggers will try anything

Gone are the product reviews and tutorials, now it's all about testing out the latest fad trend, covering their entire face in sperm (yes, you read that right) and applying as many layers of nail polish, foundation, mascara or whatever you can get your hands on. All captured on camera.

Here we list five bizarre things beauty bloggers have done to get noticed online - and not surprisingly, the majority of them have actually worked.

This woman uses a sock to apply her foundation

Back in May, beauty vlogger Mayra of the YouTube channel MayraTouchOfGlam, uploaded a pretty interesting video showing her applying her foundation using a sock. Not only did the video rack up hundreds of thousands of views but it also made us a huge believer in using household items to apply your make-up. Just make sure your sock is clean, of course.

Beauty blogger uses sperm to get glowing skin

Yes, this is the world that we now live in. A beauty blogger from England has attributed her flawless, clear skin to daily sperm facials - which her male friend reportedly delivers every day in a pot. Tracy Kiss said back in November that her rosacea has cleared up significantly since she started using the unusual ingredient, which she applies to her face from a Chinese takeaway container. In a YouTube tutorial, Kiss explained her reasoning for using the sperm, saying that although people might find it odd that she's a single mother with two kids, the sperm is from a reputable donor and is purely used for cosmetic purposes. You can read the rest of the story here but don't say we didn't warn you.

Woman applies 100 layers of nail polish and basically creates a colourful mountain

Just last month, Beauty vlogger, Christine of YouTube Channel Simply Nailogical, applied 116 layers of lacquer to her nails - just because. After fans of her YouTube channel suggested she try to paint her nails with every colour she has, the hilarious vlogger accepted the challenge. The result? Questionable. Check it out for yourself here.

Transgender beauty blogger transforms their face using only Kylie Jenner Lip Kits

Beauty vlogger Nikita Dragun took the popular Kylie Jenner Lip Kits to the next level when she used three Lip Kits to create a full face of make-up (not counting false lashes and some foundation). Nikita used True Brown K, Kourt K, and Koko K, choosing True Brown K to create definition and fill in her eyebrows with the aid of a brow brush. The final result? Incredible.

This is what happens when you apply 100 layers of foundation

Swedish vlogger Josefin Lillakas has taken her foundation obsession 100 times further by applying 100 layers of foundation in a new YouTube video. The blogger got her inspiration for the video from another tutorial she has done on applying 100 layers of mascara. She starts off with a natural, bare face. Then she stops at 40 layers to dry her face with a hairdryer and at 80 layers you can't even tell it's her. Check out the end result here.
