Sarah Michelle Gellar pays tribute to Robin Williams on anniversary of his death

Gellar played Williams’s daughter in the CBS comedy The Crazy Ones, which ran for 22 episodes in 2013 and 2014. It was one of the final acting roles for the prolific entertainer, who committed suicide on Aug. 11, 2014, when he was 63.

The first photo Gellar shared features Williams hamming it up with the Victoria’s Secret Angels, when the women made an appearance on the show.

Gellar also posted a photo of her and her friend in an affectionate kiss.

Immediately after Williams’s death, Gellar released a sweet statement explaining just how close the two had become.

“My life is a better place because I knew Robin Williams,” she said. “To my children he was Uncle Robin, to everyone he worked with, he was the best boss anyone had ever known, and to me he was not just an inspiration but he was the Father I had always dreamed of having. There are not enough adjectives to describe the light he was, to anyone that ever had the pleasure to meet him. I will miss him everyday, but I know the memory of him will live on. And to his family, I thank them for letting us know him and seeing the joy they brought him. Us crazy ones love you.”

The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star regularly shares memories of Williams, as does his real-life daughter, 27-year-old Zelda Williams. On July 21, on what would have been his 65th birthday, she posted a vintage snapshot of her and her brothers Zachary and Cody horsing around with their dad.

However, Zelda took an Instagram break ahead of the sad anniversary to grieve privately.
