The day Jackie Chan met Duchess Kate

This is the moment two worlds collide. The moment Hollywood royalty met real life royalty.

Action star Jackie Chan surprised everyone when he showed up to a cultural event in London aimed at celebrating the tied between Britain and China.

The Kung-Fu master was greeted by Prince William who seemed genuinely excited to meet the movie star.

His wife, Duchess Catherine, appeared slightly more demure, but nonetheless still shone in a stunning eggplant coloured lace gown.

The group then stood together - rather awkwardly - for a group shot. Smile, anyone?

Also present at the event was Chinese President Xi Jinping, who was given a special gift by Queen Elizabeth: a framed picture of herself.

The 89-year-old royal presented him with a number of gifts including a matching set of silver photo frames, one with a picture of herself in and another with her husband the Duke of Edinburgh.

The President was also given a pair of candlesticks from the Royal Crown Derby as well as a beautiful leather box, which features some of William Shakespeare's most well-known sonnets.
