Kerri-Anne gives an update on her husband


Kerri-Anne Kennerley tells of her relief when the doctors removed her husband, John's, resuscitation tube after spending time in hospital for a spinal cord injury.

"It was the most profound sense of relief I have ever felt," she said in an interview with Women's Weekly.

"'That was the moment when I felt he'd really come back to me".

Just months ago Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s life was turned upside down after John broke his neck after a fall at Coffs Harbour golf course.

"I woke up thinking what a shocking nightmare that was ... only that it wasn't a nightmare ... it's real,” she said in an interview on Sunday Night.

The bubbly 62-year-old shared a photo on Instagram showing John recovering in hospital.

"After 6 and half weeks in Intensive Care John is moving to the spinal unit," she wrote in the caption.

"Just a few of the brilliant nurses and doctors who looked after him 24 hours a day. Thank you to these wonderful professionals."

Although Kerri-Anne and John face a nine month wait before doctors can fully assess the damage done to his spine, the pair remain hopeful.

John is able to talk, eat solids, and has also regained movement in his legs.

"His recovery has been like a series of minor miracles," she tells the publication
