"If I was a robber in Rio I'd be waiting for the Paralympics to start," the 45-year-old said.

"They're a much easier mark than the able bodied ones."

To be fair, he backed it up with: "That would be a worry... That would be horrible."

His remark was in response to newsreader Brooklyn Ross reading out a series of robberies that took place during the Rio Olympic games.

A spokesperson for ARN said in a statement: "In context of the entire segment on air this morning, Kyle's comments were a reflection of what many commentators are already saying, that given the level of danger and incidents in Rio, it's a very real concern that the Paralympics will follow the current games."

This isn't the first insensitive comment Kyle has come under fire for.

In 2009, he and Jackie were suspended from the radio for 14 days after a 14-year-old girl confessed she was raped at the age of 12 while being hooked up to a lie detector.

He was suspended again in 2009 after telling Magda Szubanski to lose weight in a "concentration camp".
