Government officials say Stranger Things 'upside down' theory could be real!

If you're as obsessed with Stranger Things as we are then you're very familiar with the 'Upside Down'.

You know, the terrifying parallel universe where the demogorgon nearly kills Will Byers and actually killed Barb. IT KILLED BARB.

Well now in a recent interview with Chelsea Handler, United States Secretary of Energy, Ernest Moniz has revealed that an upside down could actually exist.

We are amazed and slightly terrified at the same time.

Chelsea asks Ernest about the parallel universe that the series explores to which he answers, "I can tell you first of all that I have never seen it, but I’m aware of it… I will note that actually we do work in parallel universes."

Uhm, what?!

He continued to explain that theoretical physicists focus on understanding the basic “structure of the universe” — which means studying higher adding: “[Theoretical physics] looks at things like higher dimensions than three dimensions, and parallel universes.”

In the series, the Department of Energy’s inhumane experiments are based on research of The Upside Down, forcing badass telekinetic heroine, Eleven, to navigate the horrific place in her mind.
