Bec and Lleyton Hewitt deny 'growing apart'

Bec and Lleyton Hewitt have been at the centre of rumours claiming the husband and wife are “growing apart.”

The mum-of-three broke her silence this week, telling the Herald Sun she’s “disappointed” about gossip magazines spreading rumours about her husband’s “party behaviour.”

“It disappoints me to think that we cannot go out and enjoy a day with friends without it being sabotaged,” the 33-year-old told the publication.

Lleyton piped up and slammed the articles for being “so far away from the truth.”

“It is a wonder they didn’t say that Bec was also pregnant with our 48th child,” the former world number one tennis pro joked.

The couple’s manager, David Drysdale, labelled the reports that claimed Lleyton was “more into drinking and gambling than Bec” as “rubbish and fabricated lies.”

“That is enough!” David demanded, before adding that the articles are “laughable” because Bec and Lleyton are a “very loving, close knit unit.”

The Hewitts’ comments come after an onlooker told New Idea that the 35-year-old former sportsman “proceeded to get more and more wasted,” at the Melbourne Cup earlier this month, “while we didn't even see her with one drink!”

The magazine claimed Lleyton seemed “obsessed with the gambling side of things” as celebrated his victory at the Spring Racing Carnival.

A source said according to the mag that “Bec's been hiding a big secret, and it's the fact they're growing apart after years of being together.”

Within the same week of these claims, Woman's Day mag said the father of Mia, 10, Cruz, 7 and Ava, 6, got into a heated argument with his wife after he’d be drinking.

“It was supposed to be Bec's comeback moment, but Lleyton was more concerned with drinking beer with his buddies than making sure she was OK,” the source said.

Despite the shaky relationship claims, Bec has been posted cosy pics of her and Lleyton to her Instagram account, proof the pair are very much in love and stronger than ever.
