Actress Abigail Breslin has revealed she was the victim of sexual assault.
The 20-year-old Scream Queens star made her admission during Sexual Assault Awareness Month in the US, revealing she knew her assailant.
Taking to Instagram, Abigail shared a quote reading: “You are not obligated to have sex with someone that you’re in a relationship with. Dating is not consent. Marriage is not consent".
She captioned the image: "I knew my assailant", before adding hashtags, "SexualAssaultAwarenessMonth" and "Breakthesilence".
The movie star has been shown a wave of support after speaking out online, with fans and famous faces writing back to her on social media.
"I love you, Abbie. You're strength and testimony means so much to too many. #voice (sic)," Will & Grace actress Debra Messing tweeted.
Meanwhile Modern Family star Sarah Hyland wrote on Twitter: "Proud of you Abs #BreakTheSilence".
Hours later Abigail took to her social media account, thanking everyone for their support.
"So beyond thankful by the immense support regarding my IG post last night. I am so lucky to have all of you kind souls in my corner," she wrote.

Abigail made her mark in the showbiz industry at a young age, notably with her role in Little Miss Sunshine in 2006.
She's gone on to star in films Nim's Island and My Sister's Keeper and television show Scream Queens.
The actress has recently been busy filming a Dirty Dancing remake with Colt Prattes.
