Orlando Bloom has finally broken his silence on his infamous nude paddleboarding adventure last year, denying it was for publicity.
The 40-year-old actor, who was snapped paddleboarding with then-girlfriend Katy Perry while holidaying in Italy, said days of seclusion had left him thinking the paparazzi wouldn't catch the full-frontal moment.
“I have been photographed a million times in a million ways. I have a good radar,” Orlando told UK Elle.
“We’d been completely alone for five days. Nothing around us. There was no way anyone could get anything. So I had a moment of feeling free," he continued.
“I wouldn’t have put myself in that position if I’d thought it would happen. Note to self: you’re never free. Ha!”

The extremely NSFW snaps of Orlando nude instantly went viral, with the Pirates of the Caribbean seen on the back of the board in all his glory, while Katy sat up top looking somewhat blissfully unaware.
The father-of-one, who shares son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, also cryptically opened up about his split from Katy, with the couple calling time on their relationship in March.
“We’re friends. It’s good. We’re all grown-up. She happens to be someone who is very visible, but I don’t think anybody cares what I’m up to. Nor should they. It’s between us,” he said.
