Reese says 'give Nic an Emmy'

Reese Witherspoon has landed the cover of this month’s The Edit from Net-A-Porter praising Big Little Lies co-star Nicole Kidman and talks all things women. Girl power!

The miniseries, which she stars alongside Nic, was a massive hit, leaving fans wanting more. Season two, please!

Talking to the magazine, Reese had nothing but admiration for her co-star saying: “My God, can somebody just give this woman an Emmy? I mean, please.”

The actress also admitted how Legally Blonde was such an important movie for her career.

She said: “I remember doing Legally Blonde and thinking, this is my first film that isn’t about a romantic entanglement; it’s about a woman finding her own destiny. There are certainly romantic aspects to it, but it wasn’t the driving force.”

This may have had something to do with her drive to see women in Hollywood in more multidimensional roles explaining there is a “deep need to see women in a more complex way” rather than the typical wife, mother or girlfriend roles.

“Women are not good or bad, they’re every colour of the human experience,” Reese said.

She also acknowledged how liberated she now feels after turning 40.

“[After 40] you know who you are, who your friends are, what you want to accomplish and what you don’t care about. It’s liberating not having to worry so much about what other people think of you.”
