Nicole Kidman tipped for Emmy win

Nicole Kidman's television drama Big Little Lies has been a mega hit, and now the actress is tipped to land herself an Emmy award for her performance in the HBO show.

Sure, the nominations aren't out until tomorrow, but that hasn't stopped the bookmakers placing their odds!

According to entertainment predictions website Gold Derby, the 50-year-old Australian actress is in the lead to take out the award for Best Movie/Mini Actress, with 11 out of 20 experts polled by the outlet putting their money on Nicole.

The wife of Keith Urban plays lawyer Celeste Wright on the show, who sacrifices her career to raise her children at home, all the while dealing with her violent husband, played by Alexander Skarsgard.

Earlier this year she opened up about shooting the difficult scenes that play out in the abusive on-screen relationship.

"After we shot some of the really, really violent scenes, I was in a lot of pain myself,” the Beguiled star told Vulture.

“But women go through this, so I wanted to tap into the truth of it, and I wanted to be real in those scenes, so that’s what it required - an element of violence.”

She added: "It’s probably one of the hardest roles I’ve had to talk about because I’m still very raw about it".

Meanwhile co-star Reese Witherspoon also showed her support for Nic recently, telling The Editfrom Net-A-Porter : "My God, can somebody just give this woman an Emmy? I mean, please".
