This is the upper age limit for skinny jeans, long hair, and tattoos

Better start wearing out your skinny jeans, 40-somethings: According to a new poll, you don’t have much time left.

The survey, conducted with 2,000 women by U.K. retirement site Retire Savvy, concluded that ladies over the age of 47 should no longer wear tight denim pants.

Actually, according to respondents, 47 is pretty much the last year that it’s socially acceptable to have any fun with your look: Those polled agreed that 46 marks the last age of your life that you can have long hair, 38 is too old to have tattoos, and 34 should mark the end of your selfie-taking days.

This “news” comes several months after tabloid darling Jennifer Aniston said there shouldn’t be any upper age limit for wearing bikinis. “If I can be the first 80-year-old to go out there successfully in a bikini, then I’ll take that on,” she told People magazine. “I don’t think anybody needs to rein in anything because of an age. That is absolute BS. To each his own!”

But in 2011, a similar poll (this one conducted by Diet Chef) found that women 47 and older shouldn’t wear two-piece bathing suits anymore in public.

This means that if we were to take these polls seriously, Aniston, who coincidentally (or not?) turned 47 years old in February, should refrain from showing off her taut tummy on the beach.

What do you think? Can you ever be too old to wear skinny jeans or bikinis, or get a tattoo? We know Aniston’s answer, but we’d love to hear yours. Leave a comment and tell us.
