This member of royalty has been named the dream tour guide

Just imagine it; you're in London, you need someone who knows the area like the back of their hand to show you the sights of the city, who would you call?

Well according to a new study by London mayor Sadiq Khan’s promotional company, London & Partners, most people wouldn't hit up Prince Harry, Kate Middleton or Prince William to show them around, as the Queen would be number one on most people's speed dials for a tour of London.

The study of US tourists found that the Queen was closely followed by footballer David Beckham and singer Adele as the ultimate London tour guides.

Gordon Innes, CEO London & Partners, said: “From the Queen to Adele, Tower Bridge to The Shard, and Picasso to Sir Elton John, London offers one of the most diverse and stimulating cultural experiences of any city in the world.

“With so many new museum openings this year, a stunning array of world class exhibitions and events, the ability to travel 24 hours on the night tube and the city offering better value than ever for international visitors – there has never been a more exciting time to come to London.”

90 per cent of those surveyed also revealed that the capital's cultural experiences are the best of any city in the world and listed London's museums, galleries and West-End musicals counting as big drawing factors.

A majority also said that they would definitely return to the city as long as the exchange rate stayed favourable.
