Rescued baby beaver chilling in a pool goes viral

The adorable mammal was rescued by wildlife conservationists from a Canadian golf course.

The four-week-old baby was found at the top of a hill under a tree on the Calgary course with an injured tail.

The video above shows the super cute beaver cleaning and grooming its fur in a pool at the rescue shelter.

Executive director Holly Duvall told Global News the little guy loves his pool time.

“Beavers need to be in water - to drink and defecate, so he has several pool time sessions each day… He loves to groom afterwards which is a great sign,” Duvall said. “It's fantastic that we're seeing that with him.”

According to CBC News, the animal was picked up and then dropped by a predator.

“It's not normal at this age for beaver kits to be separated from their parents,” Duvall said, “They're very bonded.”

He is expected to make a full recovery.

Since the rescue, the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation has been taking very good care of the beaver, who has doubled in weight and is expected to make a full recovery.
