Hotel review: Hotel Renew in Waikiki – Hawaii

Planning a holiday in Hawaii, but don’t know where to stay?

If you’re looking to visit the popular Waikiki beach, but want to stay somewhere cheap and cheerful then we know just the spot.

Footsteps away from the beach in Waikiki and a 10-minute walk from the hub of shops, Hotel Renew is a prime spot for your Honolulu stay.

The quirky boutique hotel is stylish, modern, affordable and styled with a Japanese-influenced feel.

The rooms:

All 72 air-conditioned rooms feature plush Keurig coffee makers, iDapt Charger and Docking Station and PlayStation 3 Blu-Ray Console players, where guests are able to choose films from the DVD machine in the lobby if they fancy a night in. Who doesn’t love a lazy night lounging around in their bathrobes, which are provided with the room?

Other amenities:

For those hiring a car, valet parking is offered at the hotel and for $25 a day, breakfast – which consists of a European-style breakfast of croissants, cereal, pastries, yoghurt and fresh fruit.

The Renew is a simple hotel with friendly staff, there’s no spa or pool, but the Pacific Ocean is right on your doorstep and you can borrow deck chairs from reception.

Hotel Renew is a block from Waikiki beach and is within a leisurely stroll of Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium.

Double rooms with a king bed and an ocean view start at $180; a similar city view room is $155.
