Ivanka Trump slammed for $17k dress
On Tuesday night, for the first state dinner hosted by the Trump administration, Ivanka Trump wore a $17,000 dress.
The first daughter opted for a pink tulle ruffle gown from Rodarte. According to the product’s description on Matchesfashion.com, the piece is “crafted to swathe the figure, with ruffles floating across the boat neck and V-shaped back, a striking blossom embellishment at the pleated waist, and a floor-skimming tiered skirt.”
The embroidered dress was made in the United States (Melania Trump went with a French label), with the American sisters behind the brand, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, a firm fave of celebrities.
In fact, Kirsten Dunst walked the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival in the same gown in 2017 and Millie Bobby Brown wore a white version of the dress in February.
Ivanka’s look was met with mixed reviews, with many critics calling out the high price tag.
This dress costs more than my car is worth and looks like something my 6 year old niece would pick out for 20$ at Target.

I love the dress, but it could be done for a few hundred. Shame.

Does Ivanka know Rodarte is an American label and not a French label?
