4 hilariously awkward moments from The Bachelor premiere

It’s that time of year again – The Bachelor is back and it looks like it’s going to be a cracker of a season as we follow Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins on his search for love.

With 25 beautiful ladies vying to win his heart on the premiere episode, we all knew things were going to kick off.

But it wasn’t just the drama that was entertaining for all, there was a number of hilariously awkward moments we’re sure many viewers secretly revelled in.

In case you missed out, we’ve taken the liberty to pick out some of the most cringe-worthy highlights from the Bachie 2018, episode one.

We have a Jarrod Woodgate 2.0

If you didn’t think we’d ever get another Jarrod Woodgate from Sophie Monk’s season of The Bachelorette, then you’re in for a treat.

Enter Cassandra Wood.

The 23-year-old actually had a one-up on all the other ladies as already knows Nick and has been on a couple of dates with him before.

But that “connection” she was banging on about soon got many viewers claiming she was the new “stage five clinger” of the show.

Cass ended up with a serious case of side-eye after constantly looking out for Nick on last night’s show which, for many, just brought back nostalgic memories of Jarrod.

We can’t wait to see if more of Cass’ Jarrod-esque mannerisms come to light.

That attention-seeking pool session

We get it, there’s 25 girls there and you want to try and stand out from the crowd to win Nick’s heart.

And one lady had a lightbulb moment when she decided to jump into the pool fully clothed in her cocktail dress. WHAT.

While Kayla was obviously trying to make a statement and all the girls at the cocktail party saw her extravagant leap – or rather bunny hop – into the pool, Nick didn’t notice in the slightest.

Not sure about some of you, but we definitely died a little inside from secondhand embarrassment for the poor girl.

It definitely cringed out some on social media too.

Luckily she still received a rose from Nick.

Did you know Vanessa Sunshine’s actual name is Vanessa Sunshine?

Anyone remember Vanessa Sunshine from last night? How could you not?

She made sure everyone knew she was, in fact, Vanessa Sunshine about 50 times at the cocktail party.

Also, while everyone on their title cards was referred to by their first name only, good ol’ Vanessa Sunshine had, you guessed it, ‘VANESSA SUNSHINE’.

We’re sure we won’t be forgetting Vanessa Sunshine anytime soon.

Cat’s failed attempt to cause drama (kind of)

There’s always one (or a few) who thrive on causing drama in the Bachelor mansion.

Last night it was fashion designer Cat who was determined to confront property valuer Sophie, who apparently was “seeing” her ex-boyfriend on the regular.

Champagne in hand, Cat strut over looking like she was ready for a full-blown argument.

But Nick, having absolutely fabulous timing, conveniently swooped in on Sophie for some one-on-one time which appeared to rile up Cat even more.

Cat eventually got her chance to cause some ~drama~ about Sophie and her ex-boyfriend.

But Sophie quickly swept it under the rug, insisting she hadn’t seen the unnamed guy in a “really long time”.

Cat wasn’t too convinced, but said in time “Nick will think she’s a basic b*tch who doesn’t have much to offer”.

Righty-ho then, Cat.
