Becoming the first ever royal to give an interview to a gay publication, Prince William will be featured in the UK’s leading magazine Attitude, which will go on sale 22 June.

The Duke of Cambridge confirmed the news during a visit to the US embassy in London to sign a book of condolences for the victims of the shooting at Orlando’s gay nightclub Pulse.

He and wife Kate spoke to staff there, with the Prince telling Craig Petty, president of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) association GLIFAA about his upcoming feature.

“I told him what I do and he said he's going to be in Attitude magazine,” said Craig. "I think it's great that they have come here today to show their support."

A firm campaigner against the bulling of young people, it’s believed Prince William will be using the story to highlight the plight of LGBT teens.

Stay tuned for more details with a Kensington Palace spokesperson revealing: “We look forward to speaking about this soon."
