AFL WAG's near-miss with disaster wardrobe malfunction

The 2018 Brownlow Medal Awards that went off on Monday night is a massive deal for AFL stars and their wives and girlfriends who ensure to bring their fashion A-game to the red carpet.

However for one of the attending WAGS, Kalinda Salla – partner to Brisbane captain Dayne Zorko – it was almost a complete disaster after she found the zipper had broken on the dress she was planning to wear for the big event.

The 24-year-old had her outfit all organised out in advance – a white high-neck, long-sleeve beaded lace gown by Judy Copley Couture – yet decided to try it on again on Monday morning just to be sure and that’s when the worst happened.

“I tried the dress on when I woke up, I went to do the zip myself and it broke,” she told AAP.

“I called guest services, a lady came and made it worse… so at 7.30am, I went into reception in this dress, hair still just woken up and got into a taxi to the city to an alterations place.”

So, what was meant to be a relaxed day of getting ready with hair and makeup turned into a mad rush trying to get her dress fixed but thankfully her saviours at the alterations place pulled through and managed to get the zip repaired just in time.

When Kalinda and Dayne graced the red carpet the pair looked absolutely divine, with no sign of there being any earlier stress whatsoever.

Another WAG that faced a near-miss when it came to her wardrobe was Richmond captain Trent Cotchin’s wife, Brooke Cotchin.

It seemed Brooke had underestimated just how windy it would be on the carpet at The Crown in Melbourne and had troubles controlling her high-slitted red Jason Grech gown.

“I wasn’t prepared for the wind, I didn’t realise it was windy and it’s freezing but it’s fine,” Brooke said
