Airline exploits nude photos leak for profit
On the back of all the leaked nude photos this week, Spirit Airlines is cashing in. “Our bare fare was hacked,” reads a Spirit Airlines promotion emailed to consumers.
The bare fare program is not new for Spirit Airlines, but the references to the hacked photos are.
“We thought the cloud was our friend, y’know, because we spend so much time flying with ‘em,” the promotion says.
The promotion has received a lot of backlash from twitter users who deemed the ad “lacking in taste”.
This is really tasteless and poorly timed #spiritairlines http://t.co/ihV7JjSVB1

The promotion was “not meant to be offensive,” a Spirit spokesman told the HuffPost. “We have a long history of taking major national news stories and tying them to our marketing. Most people think they are funny and accept them for what they are. We accept that a small group of people might not think the same way.”
