The alarming allegations appear in the latest edition of US magazine In Touch, and have been made by two revellers who attended an impromptu party at Bynes' squalid New York apartment.

“She probably gets so high that sometimes she won’t even leave her house,” claims photographer Giovanni Arnold who attended the party, “One minute she’s cool and down-to-earth. The next, she’s totally different — indecisive, and she can’t hold a conversation,” he told the magazine, “Mentally, she’s all over the place.”

The photographer and another party guest identified only as 'Joe' made troubling claims about the star's drug use saying “Weed was everywhere … On the bed, all over the floor.”

Giovanni also alleged Bynes did cocaine when they were at her place, although the star denied it saying, “They’re the ones into drugs, so they bring drugs, but I don’t do them.”

The pair also revealed Amanda's terrible living conditions claiming that her apartment was virtually unfurnished, filthy and 'littered' with empty take away boxes. The conditions were no better in her bedroom where Bynes reportedly sleeps atop a bare mattress

'Her living room is basically empty: She has two big purple chairs and a little dining room table, that's it,' 'Joe' said. In place of curtains the star had reportedly spray painted black paint over the windows, 'It's almost like she couldn't bother to get more blinds,' Giovanni said.

The latest reports have only served to reinforce a recent history of alarming behaviour from Bynes.

The former child star was arrested in April last year and formally charged in June with DUI after side-swiping a police car in West Hollywood.

In September last year, the star was then charged with a hit-and-run related offences after leaving the scene of two accidents (one in April and one in August of that year) -- both later settled out of court.

Bynes was also caught and charged in September for driving with a suspended license and had her car impounded.

In February this year, after moving from Los Angeles to New York to supposedly pursue a fashion career, Bynes moved out of another NYC apartment after her landlord threatened her with eviction for being a 'building nuisance'. According to TMZ the actress was constantly smoking marijuana and upsetting neighbours with her 'morning, noon and night' habit.
