It seems like the stress of her marriage ending and adapting to life as single mother-of-six has finally taken its toll on Angelina Jolie.

After recently revealing she'll "cry in the shower" before she'd ever break down in front of her children, it seems soon-to-be ex-husband Brad Pitt has stepped in and urged the 42-year-old actress to seek help.

"Ange finally admitting her health problems is a subconscious cry for help," an insider told NW about Ange's candid admission to Vanity Fair that she has suffered from hypertension and Bell's palsy since splitting from Brad last September.

Bell’s palsy is a condition where the muscles on the side of your face become weak or paralyzed.

However it seems the couple's six kids are so concerned for their mum that they've turned to Brad to try step in and help, despite the former couple's strained relationship.

"Brad sat Ange down during one of their kid drop-offs and discussed how she needs time out," the source continued to the mag.

"He knew he'd get his head bitten off, but he suggested rehab might be the only solution. Ange was annoyed at first, but he talked her around when he emphasised how important it is for her to be healthy for the kids... or risk losing them."

In her revealing profile with Vanity Fair, Ange revealed she's retreated from Hollywood, and that she's found it hard to adjust to life as a single-mum.

"As I go to sleep at night, I think, 'Did I do a great job as a mom or was that an average day?'" Ange told the publication.

The Girl, Interrupted actress has also hit back at the backlash she received in regards to the casting process for her latest film First They Killed My Father.

During her profile interview, Ange told the mag that casting directors went to circuses, orphanages and slum schools to try and find child actors for a role in the movie.

Money was reportedly put in from of the girls, with the kids then told to look at the cash and think of a reason why they needed it and then snatch it, before being caught and forced to give it back.

"I am upset that a pretend exercise in an improvisation, from an actual scene in the film, has been written about as if it was a real scenario," Ange said in a statement to Huffington Post.

"The suggestion that real money was taken from a child during an audition is false and upsetting. I would be outraged myself if this had happened."
