Aussie mum’s genius budget Kmart hacks for ultimate luxe look

It’s the unlikely store that’s built up a cult following for getting more bang for your homewares buck, and one Gold Coast mum has revealed there’s even more ways to make the most of Kmart buys when it comes to refreshing your home.

Keen interiors lover Alicia, who shares all her style tips on her Instagram account My Burleigh Reno, is every budget buyer’s inspo after sharing a photo of her bedroom styled completely in Kmart products.

“Absolutely everything is Kmart apart from the bed & plants,” she captioned the photos. “A few hacks thrown in can tailor your room to your style.”

With her bedroom looking like it’s been perfectly primped for a photoshoot in a high-end homes magazine, Alicia details exactly what she’s used to get the beachy look with lots of texture and neutral tones – and all for under $300.

Revealing a list of products which include a $42 quilt cover, $29 jute floor runner and $35 side tables, there’s also a few clever hacks thrown in there for those willing to get their craft on.

Love the round raffia throw cushion on the floor?

Alicia made that from two $3 placemats which she joined together with twine and finished off with some fringing and some plastic bags for filling.

And the faux leather bench?

The Scandi Shoe Rack made headlines as being a cult Kmart buy – which the Gold Coast mum customised to perfectly fit the space by re-covering it in fabric using a staple gun.

“I have 3 different covered shoe racks throughout my home,” Alicia explains on her Instagram account.

Needless to say, Alicia’s hacks have completely won over a legion of people keen to get a quick room makeover without breaking the bank.

“Love the placemat hack best one yet!!” gushed one fan. “Love it, great styling, on point on budget. Love your work.”

“Omg I dunno why I never thought to use my sheets as throws!!” added another.
