Aussie Orange Is The New Black star’s sweet baby name

Orange is the New Black star Yael Stone has given birth to her first child.

The 33-year-old, who plays Lorna Morello on the hit show, and her partner Jack Manning Bancroft, have welcomed a daughter and given her a very meaningful name.

Welcome to the world ‘Pemau Stone Bancroft’.

“She [Pemau] was named after her great great great grandmother who provides a powerful link to the past, the Bancroft’s oldest link to the Djanbun clan of the Bunjalung nation,” a rep for Yael told US Weekly.

Jack, the founder of Indigenous global outreach and mentoring program AIME, is a descendent of the Aboriginal clan whose dreamtime stories talk about arriving to Australia from elsewhere – the land at the “centre of the earth”.

The new bub arrived on May 30th and just two weeks earlier, the Orange is the New Black star shared a photo to her Instagram wearing a ‘phenomenal woman’ T–shirt, expressing her gratitude for the “women who have come before” her.
