Is this the most awkward TV gaffe ever?

Everyone loves a good live television fail and social media may have just brought to our attention the mother of all awkward TV fails.

One clever Twitter user managed to catch a Sky News segment and it wasn’t the reporter that made the gaffe, but an unexpected guest in the background.

A man was walking by minding his own business with his shopping bags, not noticing the camera and struts right into shot.

If he had just kept walking he would’ve gone right out of shot but instead he takes notice of the news segment being filmed and proceeds to back up.

It was undoubtedly with good intentions to get out of the shot, but the man actually makes it worse for himself.

He puts himself right in clear shot, clearly thinking he’s not, and it’s just too funny.

Perhaps seeing his mistake, the man then proceeds to walk on again after hanging about for a few seconds.

Poor thing. We wonder if he managed to catch himself on television.

Or he may now see it on social media…
