He was everyone’s go-to guy for advice on Bachelor In Paradise, but it appears some stars have now turned against Michael Turnbull after he made a jibe at former co-star Ali Oetjen.
Posting a photo of himself and Ali to Instagram, Michael didn’t have many nice things to say in the caption about Ali’s upcoming stint as The Bachelorette.
“The look you give when you realise you’re happy you’re not going [on] The Bachelorette this year,” the 37-year-old wrote.
Michael also went on to declare he was on “team Grant”. That’s a major ouch for Ali.
Some of his former Bachelor In Paradise co-stars were quick to call out Michael.
“That’s a bit mean Michael,” Keira Maguire wrote, her sentiment echoed by her boyfriend Jarrod Woodgate, who added, “Not cool dude!”
But it appears some may have agreed with Michael’s sentiment as Lisa Hyde and Davey Lloyd both slapped big fat likes on the photo.
However, not long after posting the photo, Michael changed the caption, admitting his original comment “may have come across as disrespectful”.
He also insisted he “truly [wishes] Ali the best”.
“I am against online bullying and hence the change,” he added. “I hope everyone can forgive me if it came across in bad taste, it was not my intention.”
Things didn’t work out between Ali and her island love Grant Kemp, with the American actor claiming Ali cheated on him.
Whatever the case, Ali is currently looking for a second chance at love on The Bachelorette which will hit screens later this year.
