Georgia Love may have turned him down, but The Bachelorette’s Matty J looks set to get a second crack at reality love with the hunk reportedly in the final stages of discussion to be next season’s Bachelor.
Matty – aka Matthew David Johnson – narrowly missed out on his happy ever after when Georgia picked winner Lee Elliott over him in the final.
But the 29-year-old is now deep in negotiation with show producers, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Since having his heart ripped out, fans have been calling for the babe to follow in the footsteps of this year’s Bachelor Richie Strahan – who famously got dumped by Sam Frost in The Bachelorette 2015.
And while the 29-year-old previously revealed to Be he’s “too heartbroken” to be the next Bachelor, he did admit “maybe in a few months time I might feel a bit differently.”
The publication previously reported the Sydney-born reality TV star had been told not to comment when asked about being approached to be 2017’s Bachelor.
Meanwhile, the family man and avid traveller told Be if there’s anything he’s learnt after his appearance on this year’s show, it’s that he knows what he wants in a relationship and the type of woman he's looking for.
“Prior to the show it was something that I’d only experienced once before,” Matty said, speaking about the L-word, “so more than anything it made me realise what I’m looking for.”
“It would be really amazing to meet someone on the same wavelength as me,” he said.
“Someone who has the same values, attitudes and beliefs…. Someone who is ambitious, easy-going, with a great sense of humour and loves the outdoors would be the dream if I had to be really picky.”
