Baggage handler caught flinging luggage on conveyor belt

If you’ve ever bought something fragile while you’re away on holiday, you’ll more than likely just cross your fingers like the rest of us and hope it makes it through the airport in one piece.

When we put our bags on the conveyor belt at the check-in desk, we really never know where they could end up or how they could be handled.

One Twitter user claims to have filmed baggage handlers at Edinburgh Airport appearing to roughly throw passengers’ bags from the back of the vehicle on to the conveyor belt.

“Taking great care of those bags,” the man behind the camera says, filming the whole thing from behind a glass panel.

“Why walk the extra two or three yards when you can just lob it?”

While he commends the other three men for taking care of the bags, he claims one man is flinging them from yards away. Photo: Twitter/@TheMarasco

Lewis Marasco posted the footage to his Twitter page for the whole world to see.

He claimed only one of the men was actually flinging the luggage around, while the other baggage handlers can be seen carefully placing them on the belt.

“Great to see one of the baggage handlers at @EdiAirport taking no care with bags — no wonder things get broken,” he captioned the video.

“Having had things broken myself I now see why — credit to the 3 other guys taking care.”
