Tom Donkin was presenting the 2am bulletin, when there appeared to be a mix up with the camera.

After initially being seen running off screen, he remains out of sight for a lengthy 12 seconds.

Eventually he returns to the shot, only to take position in front of the wrong camera. Doh.

Not to be deterred by the important task ahead, Tom pushes forward and finds his place in front of the correct camera.

It's at this point the journalist, who has been with the BBC for nine years, is able to deliver his report on Hurricane Irma.

Though he slots into the report seemlessly, you can clearly see the strain of OMG across his face.

Since the blooper aired, the clip has gone viral on social media, with one user crowing it the "best Hurricane Irma reporting" in the world.

Luckily, after dusting himself off, Tom appears to have a sense of humour about the whole incident.

Responding to one user on Twitter he said: "Bit of a perfect storm mate of camera fail—this stuff happens with live TV. Never had so much attention albeit odd attention".
