Lena Dunham Debuts New Pixie Haircut

Lena Dunham has debuted a new short pixie cut in a television appearance this week.

The creator of Girls unveiled her new cropped hair on Late Night with Seth Meyers, to the glowing approval of the host who declared that Dunham's haircut was "outstanding".

The 28-year-old also revelled in her new crop's perks on Instagram. "Zero prep required with my new 'do," she crowed in a caption accompanying the selfie pictured below.

The new haircut is the handiwork of New York hair stylist and salon owner Rheanne White, also known as Dunham's "hair soulmate" (according to Instagram).

Dunham has been something of a chameleon in the hair stakes over recent months. Before this pixie cut, the perennial over-achiever tried a peroxide blonde bowl cut, which she followed up with a striking mint green, before settling on a natural-hued bob.

The writer-slash-actor-slash-director isn't the only celeb to get the new look itch. In recent weeks Hilary Duff ditched blonde for "mermaid" blue, while Kim Kardashian, Jared Leto and Felicity Jones have all taken the peroxide plunge.
