Kylie Jenner reveals the real reason she dyed her hair platinum blonde

When Kylie Jenner decided to dye her long brown locks platinum blonde during the week, we presumed she had just taken major inspiration from her sister Kim's foray over to the lighter side last year.

However it seems that Jenner's peroxide mane may been down to a massive mistake at the hair salon.

“I actually didn’t mean to go platinum,” she told People Magazine at the Kendall + Kylie Collection New York Fashion Week pop-up shop Wednesday in N.Y.C.

“I really wanted a nice, honey dirty blonde and when we started bleaching it, it got so light so fast and I was like ‘Wow, my hair is not damaged, I can do this.’ So I went for it. ”

When the magazine asked sister Kendall if she would be experimenting with a bottle of peroxide anytime soon, her response was: “Oh yeah, maybe! She did it before me!”

Kylie, who debuted her locks on Snapchat, said she usually just sticks to using wigs when she wants to change the colour of her hair.

Wigs are just SO much easier because I change my mind so much and this way I'm not damaging my hair," she said on her app. "Constantly changing up my style makes me feel creative and it helps me with my confidence."
