Women are dunking their heads in water in the name of beauty

It appears that primer and setting spray are out in the beauty world and a good old-fashioned bowl of water is in.

The new K-beauty trend sweeping the web has everyone perplexed, as it shows young women dunking their head in a bowl of water to achieve a flawless make-up finish.

The beauty method is called ‘Jamsu’ – which loosely translates to ‘diving’ or ‘submerging’ - and fans have been demonstrating exactly how it works online.

With just a bit of powder and a bowl of water, fans of the trend believe it gives you a matte, flawless look, which stays put all day.

Beauty Vlogger Yoon Charmi posted a video to her YouTube page of the bizarre beauty routine, which has already been viewed by over 700,000 people.

First she applies her make-up as normal, using foundation, powder, concealer and anything else she needs.

Then she grabs a bottle of baby powder and liberally applies it to her face, being very generous with it.

Next she takes a bowl of water and dunks her face in it, holding it there for 30 seconds.

When she's done, she takes a paper towel and pats her face dry and just like that her make-up is set in place for the day.

While we know it's a bit of a time consuming make-up method, we're all for new ways of getting our face to stay picture-perfect all day long.

However, we don't know if this is one beauty trend we'll be trying at home.
