Jennifer Hawkins and Fernanda Ly give us their best beauty tips

Supermodels are known for their flawless complexions even though their skin is subjected to lashings of foundation, glitter, glue, false eyelashes and everything else you can possibly think of that comes in a make-up artist's case.

So when Aussie babes Jennifer Hawkins and Fernanda Ly start dishing out the beauty advice, you better believe we sit-up and listen.

Speaking to Be backstage before the Myer Spring/Summer 2016 runway show last night, Hawkins and Ly revealed their beauty essentials, what products they take away with them when they travel and how they remove their war-paint after a catwalk show.

Glamorous 32-year-old model Jennifer Hawkins, who has been modeling with Myer for the past 10 year and has her own tanning line, Jbronze, told us she takes a massive toiletries bag with her when she travels because you "never know what’s going to happen".

Not surprisingly her number one holiday beauty essential is a good tan. However she claims that's not just because of Jbronze.

"I feel better with a tan, healthier so you don’t have to sunbake," she said.

Along with her trusty tanning products, Jen said she makes sure she has SPF in her bag, a hair treatment and a good facial exfoliant.

"I’ve got an exfoliant for my face , it’s enzyme so it’s less harsh, it exfoliates but in a softer way", she said.

"And then just my little make-up bag if you want to get dressed up to go out. You can’t always have wet hair and bun."

While that's what was in the much-loved model's toiletry bag for her recent romantic trip to Italy with her husband Jake Wall, Jen claims she doesn't take much with her if it's domestic travel.

"If I go to Melbourne or somewhere like that I’m kind of not as bad because you can just buy the brands that you like," she said.

The best advice the leggy blonde can give is to spend time on your skin and love it by getting a facial around that time of the month.

"I used to think that I didn’t like facials because they made me breakout but they actually don’t, I’ve changed my mind," she said.

"If you just get a steam and squeeze like once a month around that time to get out all the congestion, I think that’s the best thing you could do for your skin."

Speaking to Be right before she headed out to the Myer runway last night, 20-year-old model Fernanda Ly, who hails from Cabramatta and has appeared on the covers of Vogue Italia, Vogue Japan, Vogue Australia and Teen Vogue, revealed her favourite product she always keeps with her at a show.

"Definitely I carry make-up remover," she said.

"I use Bioderma, it’s the best. They pack you up when you’re waiting in line with so much make-up on your face. It feels so good when you take it off."
