On the 12th anniversary of his death, Bindi Irwin left a simple but heartfelt tribute to her father, Steve Irwin.

Posting a family photo to Instagram of her late father, mum Terri, little brother Robert and herself, the 20-year-old wrote a short but touching caption.

Earlier this year, the wildlife expert was honoured in the most iconic way with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, causing his family to break down with pride.

In true Irwin style, the family were accompanied by a four-metre python named Angela for the unveiling.

Steve, nicknamed ‘The Crocodile Hunter’, tragically passed away at 44-years-old in 2006, after being stung by a stingray while filming a documentary in Queensland.

Terri, Bindi and Robert have made sure his legacy lives on as they continue to share their love of wildlife with all of Australia and the whole world.
