The bizarre reason this mum has been uninvited from her son's wedding

A mum has been left baffled after she was uninvited from her son’s wedding over her outfit choice.

The woman took to Mumsnet to ask others what they thought, when she received a text from the bride telling her not to turn up on the day.

“I went out bought a new dress and all the works ready for it, then he turns up and says no-one can wear certain colours as that’s what she wants,” the woman started her post, referring to the bride’s preferences on what her guests should wear.

The mum had already bought her dress and the base colour of her outfit was cream, which is one of the colours the bride banned on her day.

“Obviously I wouldn’t wear plain white or cream, but it has a cream underlay and the rest is pink and grey floral,” the mum continued.

“He asked me not to wear it, and every week he calls and asks have you got a dress yet, I reply not yet -still looking , which I am and it’s still over a month away.”

She went on to say that she ended up agreeing to not wearing the dress after she heard the bride have a ‘tantrum’ on the phone one day.

“Now she’s gone berserk, and yesterday she sent a text telling me not to turn up as I will not be allowed in (sic),” the mum said.

“To say I’m upset is an understatement and he has not been in touch.”

Commenters were quick to side with the mum and warned her that she needs to ‘tread carefully’ with her response.

“For the sake of keeping the peace, I would ignore the text from the gf, and get in touch with your son to say that you will be purchasing a suitable outfit in the right colours,” one woman said.

“Does he know she’s done this? Tread carefully, you run the risk of being cut off forever,” another person said.

Others told the mum to ‘return the dress’ and some people joked that the mum should ‘wear black’ to clash on purpose.
