After his brother's Hollywood career was left in tatters, Bob Weinstein has also been accused of sexual harassment by a TV showrunner he worked with.
Harvey Weinstein's brother, who co-founded movie studios Miramax and The Weinstein Company with the 65-year-old, has been accused of acting inappropriately towards Amanda Segel, who worked alongside the producer on the TV series The Mist in 2016.
Amanda claims the 62-year-old repeatedly asked her to go on "romantic" outings, as well as private dinners, all which she declined, and the harassment only stopped after her lawyer informed executives at The Weinstein Company that if his actions did not stop she would leave the show.
"‘No' should be enough. After 'no,' anybody who has asked you out should just move on. Bob kept referring to me that he wanted to have a friendship. He didn’t want a friendship. He wanted more than that. My hope is that 'no' is enough from now on," Amanda told Variety.
However Bob has denied Amanda's claims, releasing a statement to the publication saying it was "unfortunate" the producer has suggested anything inappropriate occurred.
"Bob Weinstein had dinner with Ms. Segel in LA in June 2016. He denies any claims that he behaved inappropriately at or after the dinner. It is most unfortunate that any such claim has been made," the statement read.
Meanwhile his lawyer, Bert Fields, also issued a denial on behalf of his client, adding that there was "no way in the world" Bob would be "guilty of sexual harassment".
"Variety’s story about Bob Weinstein is riddled with false and misleading assertions by Ms. Segel and we have the emails to prove it, but even if you believe what she says it contains not a hint of any inappropriate touching or even any request for such touching," Bob's lawyer said via a statement.
"There is no way in the world that Bob Weinstein is guilty of sexual harassment, and even if you believed what this person asserts there is no way it would amount to that."
The accusations leveled against Bob comes after he gave an emotional interview about the future of his production company and the allegations that have ruined his brother's career in Hollywood.
Bob told The Hollywood Reporter that while he was aware of Harvey's unfaithfulness to wife Georgina Chapman, he insisted he had no idea "the type of predator that he was", adding that he was "sickened" by his older sibling and his "lack of remorse".
"I have a brother that's indefensible and crazy. I want him to get the justice that he deserves," he told the outlet, adding that he believed Harvey was "sick and depraved".
