The Danish actress and model, who has been married to Mattia Dessi since 2006, welcomed her baby girl Frida into the world in June.

“We are overjoyed to welcome our beautiful daughter into our lives. It’s been a long road, and so worth it. We’ve never been more in love,” she told People magazine in a statement about the birth of Frida.

She also took to Instagram to share a picture with her ‘precious little Frida’, calling her daughter her ‘true love’.

The star also used the social media platform to announce that her family would be expanding.

“Family getting larger #me #family #brigittenielsen #babybump,” she said in the first picture, which showed her cradling her bump.

“Happy time positive vibes #happyness #positivevibes.”

Brigitte came up against some negative comments when she announced her pregnancy, but hit back at age-shamers in the best way.

“Some women think, ‘Oh my God, I’m too old’,” she told People magazine.

“Well, yeah, I can understand people saying, ‘How dare she?’ But how many men have their first kids in their 60s and 70s and they never doubt it?

“Do I understand that (people) are a bit sceptical? Yes, I understand. I also totally respect the fact that not everybody likes it and agrees with it, but it is my life.”
