It looks like any photo of a young boy posing happily with his chocolate birthday cake.

However, this child went on to become a massive Australian star and one of the biggest names on morning television today.

Now celebrating his 44th birthday, his mum shared this throwback photo on Instagram to celebrate.

Still wondering who it is?

Well the happy-go-lucky chap in the photos is Today Show host, Karl Stefanovic.

Karl rang in his 44th birthday in style, with his mum wishing him happy birthday with this adorable photo.

“Happy birthday Karly .Hope you have a great day .Love you always mum,” she captioned the shot.

Karl’s younger brother, and fellow TV star and journalist, Peter Stefanovic, also took to his Instagram page to post a birthday message and a throwback photo of his own.

“The only time we ever did the weeding. Happy birthday to my big brother,” Peter captioned the picture, which showed the young boys sitting on the grass looking happily at the camera.

The TV host’s fiancé, shoe designer Jasmine Yarbrough, decided to post a more recent photo of her beau online to ring in his birthday.

“Thanks for lighting up my world. Happiest of Birthdays my love,” she captioned the post.

Her message comes just weeks after the couple were spotted enjoying a holiday in Italy at a friend’s wedding.

Today host Karl started dating Jasmine in December 2016 after splitting from his ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn in September that same year.
