Carrie Bickmore opens up about her two miscarriages

She announced the happy news that she’s pregnant with her third child last month but now Carrie Bickmore has opened up about suffering two heartbreaking miscarriages.

The 37-year-old The Project host, who is married to Greg Lange and has two children, Evie, 3, and Oliver, 10, has spoken out in an effort to ‘remove the stigma around miscarriage for the sake of both women and men’.

Her comments come in response to a recent debate on whether or not women should wait until the traditional 12-week mark to make the announcement or not.

“I know both times I miscarried, I was so relieved I hadn’t told many people I was pregnant,” the 37-year-old wrote in her column for Stellar magazine.

“I was struggling to get my head around what had happened and was not in the mood to talk about it.”

“My mind raced. Guess I won’t need to turn the office into a baby’s room. What if I never get pregnant again? We can go on holiday at the end of the year now.”

Carrie went on to say that she fully supports women who want to announce their pregnancy as soon as they find out the happy news, but she also believes others should be allowed to wait until the 12-week mark to divulge the information.

Last month, Carrie took to her Instagram page to make the exciting announcement of her own pregnancy.

The much-loved host recorded a sweet video with her family, where they revealed their family of four would soon be becoming a family of five.

In the clip, her 11-year-old son Oliver – whom she had with her late husband Greg Lange – could be seen telling younger sister Evie that the family unit is expanding.

Carrie and partner Chris have been together for around six years after meeting on the set of The Project where Chris worked as a producer.
