Casey Donovan reveals she's 'never had a boyfriend'
Casey Donovan has opened up about her dating struggles, admitting she has “never had a boyfriend” despite being nearly 30-years-old.
The singer made the candid revelation during an appearance on Hughesy: We Have A Problem where the former Australian Idol winner was asking for relationship advice.
Host Dave Hughes introduced the songstress by talking through her list of achievements, which also includes winning the 2017 season of I’m A Celebrity.
“What possibly could be your problem?” he asked the 29-year-old.
The unlucky-in-love singer then revealed it was her love life that was the issue, saying, “So, look, slight problem…I’m almost 30 and I’ve never had a boyfriend”.
Despite having dated, Casey explained she’s never had the real deal.
“Not a full-time, like, come home, made dinner, like…[sort of thing],’ she said, adding her only requirement is that her future man isn’t a “f**kin’ tool”.
The Listen With Your Heart singer has tried everything from dating apps to full on matchmaking services, describing the experience as frustrating because most people don’t want anything serious.
“Oh, you go to Gold, and it’s amazing,” she said. “You can see who’s liked you and then you have the option to like them back. But then it’s still the same DTF – no strings attached.”
Hughesy, who has been happily married to wife Holly since 2006, decided to take matters into his own hands, and took over control of Casey’s Tinder.
“I think the next time we see you, a boyfriend, alright?” he told her. “I stake my reputation on that.”
Casey’s most widely known relationship was her six-year romance with a man she met online.
After becoming engaged and falling madly in love, the singer discovered her man ‘Campbell’ was in fact a woman and she’d been heartbreakingly ‘catfished’.
